Issued British MTP Combat Pants
Note: Some pairs may have waist adjustment tabs, others may not. Fabric composition can vary slightly from pair to pair. Surplus varies naturally in fit and finish.
Issued British MTP Combat Pants
These are genuine British Army combat pants in Multi-Terrain Pattern (MTP), the standard camouflage of the British Armed Forces since 2010.
MTP was developed as an Urgent Operational Requirement for troops fighting in Afghanistan, where soldiers moved constantly between desert, farmland, mountains, and urban terrain that older Woodland and Desert DPM couldn't cover with a single pattern. The British Ministry of Defence worked with Crye Precision, the creators of MultiCam, to build a pattern using MultiCam's color palette with shapes closer to classic British DPM. It fully replaced DPM across the British Army by 2013 and remains standard issue today.
Construction is tough and no-nonsense: five total pockets (two waist, two cargo, one rear), a zip fly, and a button waist. They're built to take a beating without unnecessary bulk.
Between the camouflage's now-widespread recognition and the pants' straightforward, durable cut, they've become a popular choice well outside military circles, for outdoor work, hunting in mixed terrain, or everyday wear for anyone who wants genuine issue gear over a commercial knockoff.
The Short & Sweet:
- Genuine British Army MTP combat pants
- MTP introduced 2010, standard issue since 2013
- Five pockets: two waist, two cargo, one rear
- Zip fly, button waist
- Condition and fabric can vary slightly pair to pair, consistent with genuine surplus
